Description:

Learn to make beautiful, original jewelry. No experience necessary!

One of our most popular, this class will explore various non traditional jewelry making techniques. Students learn to texture, saw, and solder metals and to secure stones in bezel settings, as well as other, more advanced techniques for those who are ready to spread their wings. No tools are required.

An annual arts tradition in Cambridge! Multi-site exhibit centered at the Main Street Gallery features mosaics crafted by top regional artists. Works shown at five galleries and numerous outdoor sites, including an 84-foot mosaic mural.

This class is geared towards beginners that want to learn some basics of jewelry making, emphasizing cold connections, and non-torch work. Participants will learn different ways to use wire, including wrapping and making clasps. They will also learn to work with silver sheet, using drills, disc cutters, and different stamps and hammers for texturing the silver. All the tools will be provided and each person will have ample supplies to create multiple pieces during the workshop. Some basic beading techniques will also be explored and the combinatioins of these techniques will allow for a huge variety of creativity to be expressed.

If participants have personal tools, like pliers or supplies, like beads they would like to use, you are encouraged to bring them along.
